The 24th annual meeting of ASSESS, the SPSS Users' Group, will take place
on
Friday 15th October 2010 in the Alcuin Research Resource Centre, University
of York.
We are also aiming to again have two half-day workshops on Thursday 14th October
2010
(ie the day before) at the same venue.

The Alcuin Research Resource Centre (ARRC) is at the University campus located
in Heslington,
2 miles to the south-east of the city centre. It takes 10-15 minutes in a taxi
from the
railway station. Buses also go to the University

* hear the latest news from SPSS UK staff about product developments
* participate in discussions raised by the talk topics

other SPSS users
* suggest ideas for a better user group.

24TH ANNUAL MEETING, FRIDAY 15TH OCTOBER 2010 ARRC, UNIVERSITY OF YORK, YORK, UK
The committee welcomes contributions on (formerly SPSS)-related topics from all academic and professional fields, particularly software demonstrations and case studies (particularly in medicine, marketing, business and the environment), using graphics such as SPSS Chart Builder, practical SPSS syntax tips, GIS Maps, statistical analyses such as multilevel modelling and analysis of variance applied in SPSS, survey work, utility related analyses, data mining, perhaps using Clementine, teaching using SPSS, practical examples of using OMS, syntax, macros, Python and/or R with SPSS, performing bootstrapping and simulations in SPSS, handling messy data, spreadsheet management, tips on using SPSS, and experience using (formerly SPSS) products/procedures. Normally 35 minutes is allowed (including some time for questions). Speakers do not pay the conference fee and may claim expenses.
